2025 Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards Honorees and Event Details Announced
Washington, DC – The Nonprofit CFO of the Year Awards, the premier event recognizing excellence in nonprofit financial leadership, is proud to announce its 2025 honorees and event details. This year’s awards reception will be held on October 8, 2025, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.
The annual Nonprofit CFO Awards honor exceptional financial executives whose vision, operational excellence, and leadership have made a significant impact on the missions and sustainability of nonprofit organizations.
2025 Honorees
Nonprofit CFO of the Year
Jennifer Brearey, Chief Financial & Operating Officer, AdvaMed®
Jennifer Brearey was appointed CFO of AdvaMed® in March 2016, having previously served as the association’s vice president of finance and director of finance. With over 19 years of finance, accounting, managerial, and organizational planning experience, Jennifer’s background includes management roles at Ford’s Premier Automotive Group and CPA Global. She holds a B.B.A from James Madison University and recently served as chairwoman of the FAR Roundtable, a 300-member network of nonprofit executives.
Association CFO of the Year
Susan Medick, CPA, CAE, Chief Finance & Operations Officer, American Association of Immunologists (AAI)
Susan Medick leads AAI’s finance, human resources, IT, and meetings functions. Her career spans public accounting and specialized work with exempt organizations, including leadership roles at ADLM, TIA, IAAPA, and the Auto Care Association. Susan is a CPA and CAE, and has held key leadership positions in the nonprofit sector, including Chair of FAR: The Nonprofit Business Leaders’ Network and Treasurer of Girls on the Run of Montgomery County.
Philanthropic CFO of the Year
Kristin Junkin, Director of Operations & Finance, ShoreRivers, Inc.
Kristin Junkin began her career as a lawyer before co-owning a federal government contracting company and founding Outside Counsel. A summa cum laude graduate of Howard University and a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, Kristin helped found Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (now part of ShoreRivers) in 2009 and currently oversees ShoreRivers’ finances, grant work, and operations.
