Data Project Manager - Association TRENDS

Association TRENDS, located in Arlington, VA, is seeking a database project manager to oversee several ongoing database development and management projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in database systems and management, as well as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Excel. The position requires exemplary attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion while working alongside product development, marketing and sales team members to deliver user-friendly database products with end users in mind.

The project manager is responsible for directing teams of off-shore developers to produce products and manage websites which leverage our large database of association, nonprofit, and advocacy related records. The project manager will be expected to become intimately familiar with our database structure and gain a strong understanding of our data gathering and cleansing processes. The ideal candidate would also have experience performing basic data and statistical analysis as well as data visualization, as this role entails management and production for a series of special data reports.

Desired Skills and Experience

* Strong comfort level with Microsoft Excel and its data manipulation functions is preferred

* Interest in learning python for data science on the job is a plus

* Background in association/nonprofit world is a plus

* 1 year of experience in Microsoft SQL server is preferred but not required

* Familiarity with data analysis techniques is a plus

* Experience in website development or management is a plus

Marketing Manager - Thompson Information Services

We are looking for a smart, entrepreneurial and hard-working Marketing Manager who will execute our content and lead generation campaigns for our Thompson business units. We've got lofty goals in 2021 and hope you can help us achieve them.

Successful candidates will be fast learners who can think on their feet and manage multiple projects with varying deadlines while maintaining a high level of organization. You will have an opportunity to contribute to the overall strategy of our marketing programs and will have a great team supporting you along the way!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with internal editors to design and market industry-specific downloadable content pieces to boost lead generation for our sales team.

* Create and deploy email marketing efforts to support online purchases of subscription and print products

* Implement marketing plans for new product launches and keep track of sales revenue to meet goals

* Manage industry tradeshow participation by designing and printing marketing material and booth collateral, coordinating with event and venue staff, running the tradeshow booth and developing post-tradeshow marketing campaigns to capitalize on opportunities.

* Maintain Search Engine Marketing efforts, by creating display and text ads, analyzing performance data to make educated language, keyword and design changes.

* Manage direct mail efforts by selecting recipient lists, designing art pieces and tracking promotional success.

* Coordinate social media posts to promote products, events, free resources

* Maintain the company's email KPI tracking process.

* Update existing and coordinate the design of new web pages for rebranding initiatives and new product launches.

* Support the team with data analytics at team meetings and if requested by higher-level management.

Qualifications:

* 2+ years of previous B2B marketing experience that includes execution of email and social media campaigns

* Experience with Informz (or another email management system) and HTML coding, Wordpress, or familiarity with Salesforce preferred

* Ability to work successfully with a dynamic team environment as well as independently

* Efficiency, attention to detail and project management skills are vital

* Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel is required

* Entrepreneurial instincts and a strong understanding of marketing strategy and planning

* Strong writing skills a plus

Thompson Grants, a growing provider of compliance information, training and in-depth data for nonprofits, governments and institutions of higher education, has fantastic opportunities for results-driven, entrepreneurial Inside Sales/Renewal Sales professionals. These positions are for you if you are a proven closer, thrive on working the phones, and love engaging with people.

We are hiring for three potential sales positions. Please indicate which position you are interested in when applying. 

SUBSCRIPTION SALES: You'll be contacting current customers to renew their subscriptions to our market leading subscription compliance resources as well as reaching out to potential new clients. When it comes to prospecting, our products have high name recognition as sources of authoritative, mission-critical information.

GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS: In this role, you'll contact prospects and customers at federal and state government agencies to purchase and renew their subscriptions to our market-leading print and digital subscription compliance resources as well as raise awareness about our custom training offering. This position is for you if have experience working with local, state or federal government entities, and thrive on building long-lasting customer relationships

TRAINING SALES: In this role, you'll work to connect prospects and customers with the Thompson Grants training offerings – including our popular webinars, elearning courses, conferences, and custom training engagements – that best fit their needs. This position is for you if you have past experience selling training programs and thrive on the excitement of achieving target goals.

You'll have the support of a team of marketing and product development professionals who will help you understand the needs of the customer and how our products satisfy those needs.

* Establish and maintain customer relationships

* Evaluate client needs and present appropriate products as solutions

* Participate in cross-sell and upsell campaigns to existing clients as well as renewal calling campaigns

* Conduct product demos for prospective clients requesting product trials

* Handle the entire sales process from the initial call to the close

* Clearly communicate to clients our terms of offer and pricing; generate proposals as needed

* Meet or exceed your monthly sales goals while hitting your daily activity metrics

* Serve as account manager after the sale to handle customer inquiries and spot upsell opportunities

 

Qualifications:

* At least one year of inside sales experience--experience selling subscriptions a plus

* Excellent communication skills via telephone and email

* Eagerness to learn about our market-leading products and how they answer our customers' needs

* Outgoing personality

* Effective closing skills

* Superior time management and organizational skills

* Punctual, confident, team-oriented, self-motivated and energetic

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

* Experience working in Salesforce preferred but not required

* Grants industry experience is a plus

This is a full-time position, reporting to the Managing Director of Thompson Information Services, and pays a competitive base salary plus commission. Benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, 3 weeks paid vacation plus 9 holidays, the opportunity to invest in a 401(k) and a Metro subsidy. We are located 3 blocks away from the Rosslyn Metro Station in Arlington, VA however during COVID we are 100% remote.
