Jill Martineau Cornish, IOM, was recently named top industry partner by the Center for Association Leadership (ASAE).

The Association TRENDS co-founder and executive editor was presented with the 2010 Women Who Advance Association Excellence Industry Partner of the year award for her work at the publication for her invaluable insight and communication services to the association community.

Stephen C. Carey Ph.D., CAE, Lead Strategist Association Management + Marketing Resources said, “It’s about time…Keep up [the] great work on behalf of all of us!”

His sentiments reflect the attitude of much of the association community, which was reflected in toasts and cheers at a reception in Cornish’s honor the same evening at the National Press Club, hosted by TRENDS.

Introducing Cornish, longtime TRENDS contributor Rhea Blanken, Results Technology, noted that Cornish is tough but fair, an attitude held by many executives at both the ASAE luncheon and later reception in her honor attended by friends, colleagues and subscribers.

The award presentation by ASAE’s Greater Washington Network took place at the In Honor of Women Awards Luncheon and Educational Program November 10 at the Capital Hilton Hotel, Washington. Bonnie McElveen-Hunter was the keynote speaker at the ceremony, which also recognized Christine W. McEntee, MHA, executive director of the American Geophysical Union as Association Executive of the year, and Debra S. Ben Avram, CAE, CEO of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition as Emerging Leader of the year.
