Association TRENDS took first place in the most improved publication category of the SIPAwards, presented this week at the Specialized Information Publishers Association annual conference in Washington.
The judges noted TRENDS' commitment to its motto, "Seriously useful news & information for association leaders," which include CEOs and C-suite department heads. Judges praised the inclusion of in-depth surveys and benchmarking studies in the monthly print edition of TRENDS, as well as the addition of specialty newsletters addressing the typical functions of associations. Judges also commended TRENDS' innovative opportunities for advertisers and sponsors to connect with its C-suite audience, notably the new TRENDS LIVE Breakfasts.
TRENDS joined Columbia Books & Information Services in 2009, and since then went through a redesign of both the website and the monthly print publication, in addition to the new products discussed above.
"This might sound cliched, but it truly was a team effort to expand the TRENDS brand while maintaining the editorial excellence our readers have come to expect over the years," TRENDS managing editor E. Francisco Dalere said.
Second place in the most improved publication category went to Communications Technology, Access Intelligence LLC. For all the winners, go to
