Columbia Books & Information Services Expands Nonprofit and Association Leadership Portfolio with Acquisition of NonProfit PRO

Arlington, VA — Columbia Books & Information Services (CBIS), a portfolio of leading information, media, and events brands serving the association and nonprofit sectors — including Association TRENDSCEO Update, and Thompson Grants — today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire NonProfit PRO from NAPCO Media.

The addition of NonProfit PRO expands CBIS’s family of mission-driven brands, bringing together four trusted platforms dedicated to empowering association and nonprofit leaders through insight, education, and peer-to-peer engagement.

NonProfit PRO is a leading resource for nonprofit executives, providing tactical leadership insight, strategic guidance, and best practices to help modern nonprofits achieve greater impact. Designed for innovators and decision-makers, the brand covers topics spanning fundraising, technology, management, HR, board governance, and compliance, with content delivered through newsletters, digital media, research, webinars, and its signature event NonProfit POWER.

Association TRENDS and CEO Update equip senior association executives with the research, intelligence, and connections they need to lead effectively in a rapidly evolving environment. Through data-backed benchmarking studies, executive compensation analysis, leadership roundtables, and industry coverage, these brands strengthen leadership and advance excellence within the association community. Thompson Grants complements this mission by providing trusted compliance guidance, access to funding opportunities, and specialized training for grants and fundraising professionals.

The integration of NonProfit PRO into this portfolio will further unite association and nonprofit executives, fundraising leaders, and grants professionals through a comprehensive mix of content, data, and events — all designed to accelerate shared progress across the sector.

“The addition of NonProfit PRO reflects our continued commitment to helping mission-driven leaders thrive,” said Brittany Carter, President and CEO of Columbia Books & Information Services. “Across our brands, we are focused on equipping association and nonprofit executives with the data, insights, and peer connections they need to lead effectively and drive measurable impact and growth.”

Under CBIS ownership, NonProfit PRO will continue operating under its established brand, maintaining its editorial independence and focus on empowering nonprofit professionals. It will benefit from expanded access to association and nonprofit leadership audiences, deeper data and research assets, and new opportunities for cross-platform initiatives with Association TRENDSCEO Update, and Thompson Grants

“The opportunity for NonProfit PRO to be part of the extraordinary portfolio of brands at Columbia Books that serve the mission-driven community is a dream come true”, added Chris Lyons, President/Publisher of NonProfit Pro. “Our audiences and vendor partners will gain so much added value from the portfolio of brands that is formed through this acquisition.”
