Political Contributions: New Rules and Disclosure in an Election Year CD/Transcript Package
Order the CD/Transcript | Meet Your Instructor | Who Will Benefit? |
Welcome to the first Election Year under the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act.
Here’s what’s clear: Candidate committees, leadership PACs and political parties must now disclose the name, the name, employer and amount of any lobbyist or organization registered under the LDA who has bundled money for an organization. Lobbyists must now report any contribution over $200 to the Secretary of the Senate.
Here’s what’s not so clear: Exactly what types of contributions must be itemized and reported? What information will the new “bundling” disclosure form require? What gets filed with the FEC and what gets filed with the Senate? How do HLOGA requirements mesh with McCain-Feingold compliance?
Don’t wait! Get the right answers to avoid severe penalties!
